Mary Marshall - known to many as Sister Marshall - sadly passed away on 1 September 2018. She served her local community for many years and loved to walk her dogs across the beautiful fields and woodlands that make up rural Rother. She asked that any donations made in her memory should go to support the work of the Rural Rother Trust.

The Rural Rother Trust is a local charity (registered charity no. 1067847) with a mission to help individuals and organisations in need in the rural parishes of Rother. Its aims to relieve poverty, promote education and to do other charitable works. In the past, the Trust has, for example, given grants to people in real need, to replace beds or washing machines, or has given support to promising young athletes and musicians to pay for their equipment or instruments.
