Remembering Anne Suddick.1948-2021
Just to update everyone and to say thanks for everyone's Donations and messages of Support . We were overwhelmed by the generosity and solidarity. shown . Anne's Funeral took Place on 11th February and despite the limitations placed on it by Covid 19 we were able to have a piper and the Durham women's banner outside of the crematorium. The Service was very emotional with a wonderful Eulogy by Alan Mardghum of the Durham miners association and readings of Anne's poetry by Jean Spence and Anna Lawson. A memorial bench with a plaque has been ordered which will sit in the memorial garden at Redhills . Once restrictions are lifted we will hold an event to unveil it and celebrate Anne's life. I will post details once arrangements are finalised. I will also try and up load some photographs of the funeral. Finally thanks to express printers in Consett who kindly printed the memorial brochures for the funeral free of charge as a gesture of Solidarity , to the DMA for supporting us and allowing us to place the bench at Redhills and to the women's banner group for Loan of the Banner .
