Story

CAMBODIA SCHOOL PROJECT FOR APRIL 2025

In April 2024 part of the team below went to Cambodia to install a floor into a primary school classroom, so that the children could stay dry during the wet season. Due to the success of the school project in 2024, we have organised to go back out to the same school in April 2025 to help build accommodation for the teachers so they are available to teach full time, in all weathers. There will be three bedrooms upstairs, a kitchen and communal area downstairs and we would like to supply and install items in the kitchen area, and install two showers by the water supply tower for everyone local to use.

Mark Worrall, Kai Worrall and Sam Young from Glynarthen West Wales, along with Jason Moore and Jake Moore from Jaren Bathrooms and Steve Marsh, Harrison Marsh, Martin Keightley and Johnathan Urry from TJ’s Gym on the Isle of Wight, will be volunteering their time and skills for this project.

The school we are going to help is: Preah Trapang Primary School, Chrey Village, Kvay Commune, Chi Kreng District, Siem Reap, Cambodia, which is a very small school in the jungle.

We would all like to raise money to purchase materials and equipment whilst in Cambodia, which will help their local economy.

The Team will be travelling out on the 12th April 2025 and will land in Siem Reap. We will then travel to the Primary School where we will be staying in tents. The work is greatly needed to improve the education and conditions for the children to learn. Within the team there is well over 30yrs plus in the building and construction industry. For some of the Team this will be their first trip to Cambodia.

This is a private volunteer’s group, not a charity, and is fully self funded by the volunteers. In total the whole group will need to raise £4,000 for this project, with the team in West Wales raising £1,500. All money raised will go towards the cost of materials for the teachers accommodation and much needed school equipment.
