On May 23rd I will be 70. For my birthday, instead of presents, cards or flowers, I'm asking all my friends and family to contribute to my fundraising campaign for NALU.

My objective is to raise enough money to buy a minimum of 70 school uniforms. These school uniforms will give children in the poorest communities in India the chance to attend school. Without a uniform children are simply not allowed to go to school. This has a chain reaction effect on their lives, from teenage pregnancy to ongoing poverty. Access to a uniform gives each child an education in school where they are safe and are also given a meal and clean water. 

Because education breaks the poverty cycle, I want to support NALU as they are solving this issue one school uniform at a time. NALU make a real positive impact by empowering children to break their own poverty cycle, keeping thousands of kids in school every year.

Last year I met one of the founders of NALU, 15 year old Dali Schonfelder. Dali is so passionate, she truly moved me and inspired me to help with this project.

In July 2018 I will be travelling to India with NALU and personally hand over these school uniforms. It's about £10 per school uniform, and for my 70th birthday my goal it to give at least seventy school uniforms to kids in India... perhaps with your help we can reach higher! I believe that these school uniforms offer hope and a better future to many.
