Story
I am trying to raise enough money for Malala so she can be treated in a specialist centre and be able to eat normally again and have a face she no longer rejects.
I met Malala in Madagascar last month whilst on a medical mission there in one of the poorest areas of the country. She was treated years ago for a disfiguring disease called Noma, which is a gangrenous bacterial infection of extreme poverty. Over the past few months, she has developed a stiffness in her jaw making her completely unable to open her mouth. The surgery needed is way too invasive to be done locally and so we were unfortunately unable to offer her treatment on our visit. She is desperate for something to be done as she is currently unable to eat. Our team has told her we would try to raise funds to bring her over to our centre to have her treated.
The medical team is ready, the host family is ready, now we need your generosity for Malala.
