Story

The plan is to aid the education, lives & future of Maasai children in Tanzania, a country where 47% of 5-year-olds are not in pre-primary education & 67% hildren aged 14-17 are not enrolled in secondary education.

The future of the Maasai, like most indigenous tribes, is uncertain. Their incredible culture is being eroded at the expense of civilisation. In some areas of Tanzania, they are being evicted from their ancestral lands at the hands of their own government, who do not recognise the Maasai or any of the other national tribes as indigenous.

It is critically important that, due to emerging challenges & the rapid changes of the modern world, the Maasai children are educated so that they can protect their age-old culture, not just for themselves but for the rest of the world. We could all learn so much from their way of life - living in & with nature, protecting & respecting it.

If the next generation of Maasai are not educated to a level where they can fight their corner & make a sustainable future the tribe could be another that is lost forever.

The Maasai have changed my life for the better in so many ways & I want to do the same for them.
