Iʼve raised £2,100 to provide Margate with a Christmas Tree. Funds will help Margate get a tree & lights to bring sparkle to Cecil Square and keep the tradition.

Story
Last year, the Thanet community came together to help Margate decorate the traditional Christmas tree which always stands in the centre of Cecil Square. 🎅🤶
☃️ With the input and support of the amazing community and local businesses such as Off The Hook Productions, Falcon Electrical & Security Limited, DAM High Access, Goodwins Power Tools Margate, and CommunityAd Web Ltd it became a heartwarming event to remember.
Unfortunately, this year there is currently no tree to decorate. We need approximately £2000 to get a large christmas tree (around £1000) and have it erected following health and safety standards, and to hopefully get enough lights (£500) and decorations sorted (£500 including operational machine costs).
Cecil square has never been without a Christmas tree. Please donate any amount whether big or small so we can keep the tradition going and all enjoy the festive spirit which Christmas brings.

7 years agoA huge thank you to Emma Butler Hallett for venturing out into the freezing cold today to gather up and further donations to go towards to Christmas Lights Switch on Friday 8th December. 7 years agoWhat a difference a tree makes to the centre of Margate 👌 Now, let's #MakeMargateTwinkle 🎄 Please please keep donating- the supplier who was supposed to be donating us Christmas lights has pulled out so now more money needs to be raised 😩 We are so close guys, keep sharing and donating- any excess raised will either go towards next years Christmas tree or be given to a local charity of the Thanet Community's choice.
