Story
OUR CHILDREN NEED SUMMER SCHOOL!
Every year Montserrat Children's Society funds a Summer School for around 60 children, aged 4-7, offering learning experiences, fun and adventure every day for six weeks. From Basketball to beach-combing and from mathematics to making smoothies, our team of qualified Teachers and Assistants provide a varied and stimulating programme for the children.
Parents need Summer School too! Times are especially hard right now and parents have to work even when the children are not in school. There is no other provision on island for this age group and parents need to know that their children are safe, secure and meaningfully engaged.
WE NEED YOUR HELP!
Fund-raising has been almost impossible for the past months due to Corona-Virus restrictions. Montserrat relies on tourism, and we haven't seen tourists for almost a year and so our fragile economy is fully stretched and families are struggling with little or no income. We are reaching out to all those who know and love Montserrat to give what you can so that our work can continue.
CHILDREN HAVE SUFFERED ENOUGH!
In the past year children have learnt words like "Lockdown", "Curfew" and "Quarantine". How can they understand why they can't see friends? why school routines are disrupted? How can they comprehend this 'invisible enemy'? Please help us to put a little enjoyment and normality back into the lives of these little ones.

4 years agoOur Justgiving page and wonderfully generous donations from friends here in Montserrat and elsewhere has given us a total so far of just over EC$12,000.00 which is fantastic and we are so grateful for all the support. Summer School will be able to go ahead, we just need a few dollars more!! Our grateful thanks, love and blessings to all.

On our Justgiving page the numbers are going up, we are so grateful to all those people who have reached out for the sake of the children. And a huge thank you also to people here in Montserrat who have contributed so generously and made pledges. We are truly blessed.

4 years agoLovely people here on Montserrat (but I knew that already)! Just had lunch at OLVESTON HOUSE and came away with kind donations from friends. Putting cash donations into a box to add to the total at the end of the fund-raiser. Thank you so much to everyone who is helping.
