Story

ManKind was formed by Ian and Paul in January 2020 following the death of their friend Steve Garner. He was a loved and respected local business man and his death came as a total shock to his family, friends and the local community of Eastbourne.

ManKind meets weekly to provide support to men who are struggling with their Mental Health. It’s a fact that men find it difficult to talk about their feelings. It is also a fact that men account for 75% of suicides in the UK (2 a day in the building industry).

Its our aim to provide a safe space for men to talk about their feelings. It is also our aim to remove the stigma attached to poor mental health, especially in men. The priority is to stop men seeing suicide as the only option.

To achieve this goal, we need to raise funds so we can we can provide appropriate mental health support to our guys. We have developed a fantastic link with The Old Bank Wellbeing Trust who have been a tremendous support to us over recent months. We currently have 6 of our group receiving counselling through them.

We have had over 70 men join us since our first meeting and I know we are making a difference. With your support we can do so much more. Thanks for visiting our page. Our website can be seen at https://mankindcic.co.uk/
