Story

Manchester Cladiators are a group representing a growing number of residents across Greater Manchester living in dangerous tower blocks with unsafe cladding and other fire safety issues.

The Government are not helping us so we have no choice but to raise funds ourselves. The funds we raise are not to meet the costs of carrying out the works to our own blocks as they would be a drop in the ocean (each block is facing approx. £3-7m which equates to £20k-80k per resident), but they will help us bring attention to the problems we are facing with Government, the only organisation that can fix this problem.

Although we started as a small group, every week residents from new buildings get in touch in with us seeking help. We all volunteer our time and are fortunate to have support from key stakeholders such as Manchester City Council and Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service, offering us free meeting rooms. However we have other costs we need to meet.

We are raising funds to continue our campaigning and also provide additional support to those blocks who have been excluded from the Governments £1bn Building Safety Fund. Our urgent priority being Skyline Central 1 (twitter: @SkylineCentral1)

We are extremely grateful for the longstanding support of Grenfell United and will be making a % contribution to support the Grenfell Foundation from any funds we raise.
