The Malt Shovel FC are a community based Football Club in Selby. We formed in 2014 with a Senior and Veterans section. In our third season we formed our U21 team to help bridge the gap between junior and adult football. This u21 team were very successful winning their division and beaten Cup finalists in their first season. The team was promoted to the Premier division of the West Riding County FA U21 league and faired very well against the Semi professional set ups at clubs such as Harrogate Town and Yorkshire Amateurs.

This season has seen the club again asked to compete at an even higher level plying our trade in the West Riding County FA U23 Development league, with this comes more cost!

Match officials and pitch fees remain very high and we are asking for help to safeguard this established team so it can continue to provide quality football opportunities to the Districts talented youngsters.

We want the club to continue to grow and support the local community and the U23 team are a big part of this. This team offers players the chance to play against such established professional and semi professional teams so there is every chance that they may be asked to a trial for these teams or better still signed up by them.

The district has some talented youngsters that are not getting the exposure they deserve in their search to play football at a higher level. This U23 team can help that by continuing to participate in the West Riding County FA Development league and with your help we can make this happen.
