Thousands of families have fled from war and terror in Ukraine.

Their suffering is hard for us to comprehend. Take Svietlana and Wowa.

They left their home to find safety for their four young children, Lisa aged 12, who has type one diabetes, and the triplets, Wierka, Sefarimka and Makary who are just 18 months old.

Thanks to the support of Polish neighbours like OTD’s Magda Prech, they also have a flat to rent. But they need your help, urgently.

Their new home is in a village, 10km from the nearest shop or doctor and 50km from the city of Poznan.

Wawa is trying to find work to support his family but he has no means of transport; that too, was taken from him.

And while the family receive some government money, it’s lower than the cost of living.

Put simply, it is a race against time.

Our aim is to raise the modest sum of £1,500 as part of efforts to help purchase a seven-seater car.

Your money will help this family to find more than the independence they crave. The difficult truth is that might just keep them all safe and alive.
