Monday 14th August 2017 is Pakistans 70th Independance Day and I have been thinking what we can do to mark it... I feel as much as celebrating all that Pakistan has achieved, in its youthful age of 70, we should also ponder over what still needs to be achieved and do our bit to help... Karwan Development Foundation is a charitable organisation which not only believes in offering immediate relief for the less fortunate but also setting them up for a brighter future too... By providing education and skills training Karwan helps build a strong foundation of knowledge and confidence to help the underprivelidged, go out and be employed or self employed, which should overtime help reduce the issues of poverty... Building wells, planting food, funding marriages, donating gifts and generally lifting the morale of the less fortunate is their aim and I am instantly attracted to their mission which is, 'To uplift the standards of society in Pakistan, boost shared prosperity and give a reason to smile regardless of gender, religion or ethnicity...' On Monday 14th August, to mark Jashan e Azadi, lets walk 5 miles and do our bit for our country by fundraising for Karwan Development foundation... Aswell as buying raffle tickets and donating I also hope lots of you will join me for the 5 mile charity walk so we too can somehow give something back to the land that gave our ancestors so much... I will also be looking for businesses to donate raffle prizes... You all have shown me so much support for three 5 mile charity walks for Palestine and Syria, the Relief for Refugees and Salam Syria fundraisers and the Macmillan coffee morning and I'm confident your generosity will continue as this time we Burton ladies aim to do something for Pakistan...
