Story

I am writing to ask if you would consider donating to our good cause.

It is hard to find the words to say, it is still so unbelievable. Never would you ever think anything like this is going to happen to you or someone you love so dearly. Lyrah is an extraordinary 7 year old, who for such a young child she has had such a big impact on lives of everyone she met. It was in late April that we received the devastating news that lyrah had A tumour on the Brain stem (formally known as DIPG) and she has unfortunately spent most of the time since then in hospital. Unfortunately, as the tumour is located on the brain stem there is nothing the doctors can do but try and slow it down with radiotherapy. Lyrah’s life expectancy has been drastically shortened and one of the hardest parts is not knowing how much time we have to spend with Lyrah and that makes every moment so precious.

Despite all of the tests and treatments she has done and has to do, Lyrah is still so full of happiness and Its her that gives everyone the determination and motivation to carry on and help her fight this awful disease. The family are keen to raise awareness of this rare tumour, not just for Lyrah but for anyone going through the same thing. There is little research and very limited treatments and they think with more awareness and support this can change.

As you can imagine for her family and friends this is the worst possible diagnosis and as friends of the family together with the community, we would love to raise as much money for the short time that the family have left together, whether that be for help with family travelling to London to visit her in hospital (where she is currently), but mainly to help them to make those amazing forever memories and the absolute best of their time!

So far, we have had a very positive response from the community and local businesses, who have really been trying to rally around this young local family and whilst I appreciate that ‘in this day and age‘ we all have many other bills and expenses to pay off, we would be so grateful for even the smallest contribution to help support this super brave family!

Thank you for stopping by and reading Lyrah’s story... the love and support has been overwhelming!
