I've raised £1000 to support Noah's Ark Children's Hospital and the Wales Air Ambulance

In October 2022, nine year old Ioan had a serious accident, falling from height whilst playing outside his house before school.
He suffered a serious traumatic brain injury. The air ambulance arrived very quicky and saved Ioan's life, working on him where he was before moving him to Noah's Ark Children's hospital in Cardiff. Ioan spent more that three weeks in intensive care and underwent surgery to remove part of his skull.
He was critically ill and noone was able to tell Ioan's family if he would recover, or to what extent.
He stayed in the hospital for a further 12 weeks, slowly improving and supported by a multi disciplinary neuro rehab team. Ioan worked hard to build up his strength and learn to walk, talk and care for himself again. His recovery was remarkable, he was a very lucky boy!
He's now back home with his parents and brothers, continuing his long road to recovery. He has recently returned to school and all his friends have been amazingly supportive. Some of them will be running the Caerphilly 2k with Ioan and his little brother Rhodri to raise money for 2 of the amazing charities who helped to save Ioan's life.
