Story
I have a friend in need!
For many years, her and her brother have been supporting their family, sending money to them in her home country, Ghana. She is an endlessly kind and giving person, known for being empathetic and sunny. Now, she is going through a real hardship and needs some support herself.
At the beginning of December, her "best friend and brother" became critically ill, so she sent everything she had to pay for his healthcare in an effort to save his life. Sadly, these efforts were unsuccessful and she lost her brother just before Christmas, something which has obviously hit her hard and left her solely responsible for supporting her family.
As well as this grief, having given all her money away to pay for her brother's healthcare, any subsequently earned money she is now sending to pay for his funeral, which she can't afford to attend. This is also leaving her in a difficult position when it comes to paying her own way, here in London.
She is constantly giving, for none of her own gain. She can't attend her brother's funeral, which she is paying for, because she is so selfless.
An incredibly kind, anonymous donor has offered to pay for her return flights to Ghana so that she can be with her family, attend the funeral and get the support she needs, but there is one issue left - covering her wage while she's away.
We're aiming to raise £600 to cover the week off work and to give her a buffer, all by 07/01, so we don't have much time!
When you're grieving, the first thing you need is family - the last thing you need is financial stress.
The option to buy a ticket is there, now we just need to fund covering the time off while she's away so that she can actually go.
If you can support this wonderful person in any way, I will be eternally grateful. I believe that everyone deserves support when they are in need, but this person really is special - she is exceptionally caring and so deserves exceptional care in return.
Thank you for taking the time to read this and please, please donate xx
