I've raised £500 to assist Theo!

Theo Richardson was diagnosed with Osteosarcoma (a rare bone cancer) to his right knee in August 2022. As part of his treatment, he unfortunately had his right leg amputated above the knee in November. To date, he is managing all of his chemo and treatments incredibly well and continues to bounce back from whatever is thrown at him! Theo was only 13 when he was diagnosed, he is now 14, and spent his Birthday in hospital. ☹️
Theo's passion has always been football and he is a Sunderland AFC season card holder. Since the age of 7, he has played grassroots football in the Russell Foster Youth League, right up to the point he became poorly. One of the hardest parts of his cancer, was being told that he will never be able to play football for his team again. Even then, Theo insisted on telling his club quickly 'as his team may need someone to replace me in my position“ He always puts others first.
Theo's approach to his cancer has been remarkable. He always sees the positive, doesn't complain and will often remind us that “he feels lucky as some kids are much more unwell”. Theo has always been very active and was always on the go. His nickname is Mouse, because he would run around the house when he was little, like a little mouse! 😄
Theo has got a long recovery ahead of him, which will involve lots of physio to get him walking on a new prosthetic leg. Any funds raised, will go towards his future well being & any additional equipment he may need along the way.
Thank you for reading his story. 🐭
