Proud parent moment.....

I recently asked my daughter Lucy what she would like for her 16th Birthday, to which she took a moment to think & then answered 'how about a Sky Dive, then instead of presents, I could ask for sponsors and raise money for charity.' After looking into & booking the 10,000ft Tandem Sky Dive (for us both - dad roped in for support!), for the 1st weekend after her 16th Birthday at the end of March, our thoughts then turned to which charity/charities. After some thought, Lucy decided on two charities close to her heart. After losing her Nannie in May 2019 to dementia, having watched her Granda care for her for some years before, she was aware he was grateful of the respite given when her Nannie attended the local day care support group. Unfortunately like so many charitable groups, this has subsequently folded, which is why the first charity Lucy would wish to benefit from her jump is Forget me Not (Banchory) who provide support to dementia sufferers & their families not only from Banchory but also wider Aberdeenshire. The other fantastic charity that Lucy wishes to support is Archway. An Aberdeen based charity that provides respite care to children and adults with special needs. Lucy has grown up with her cousin Steven (27), who she's incredibly fond of. Steven loves his time spent at Archway, be it a long weekend or a mid week stay, and we all know how important the breaks are to both Steven and his parents, Lucy's uncle & auntie.
