Lucy was born with half a heart and had a heart transplant at 6 years old. She was courageous, inspirational and selfless and met everything that was thrown at her during her life head on. No matter how she felt, she would put others first. She was caring, clever and wickedly funny!

Lucy felt unwell and was hospitalised on 23 December 2020 and diagnosed with pneumonia. Within a week Lucy became paraplegic and was diagnosed with Post-Transplant Lymphoproliferative Disorder (PTLD).

Originally, this fundraising page was set up to raise the money needed to get Lucy the equipment she would need to get better and get home, but in the early hours of Sunday morning, 28 March 2021, the fight became too much and Lucy passed peacefully away with her family around her; Lucy was just 21.

In the last 2 weeks of her much too short life Lucy was proactive in deciding what to do with the funds that were raised for her, choosing the name of her charity; Love from Lucy.

‘Love from Lucy’ will support patients up to the age of 21 who have had a heart, liver, lung, kidney or multi organ transplant and unfortunately find themselves to have developed the same rare and aggressive post-transplant cancer that Lucy did.

At the moment we want to try to help make patients stays in hospital easier for them to cope with by providing things they may need, and supporting their parents. When the charity is successful, who knows what we may be able to do in the future?

We hope to be able to formally launch ‘Love from Lucy’ very soon, but whilst we are in the process of doing that we will leave this justgiving page open.
