Story

On Monday 14th October 2019 our son, Lucas John Whymark, was born eight days after his due date, but sadly died the same day. We have wanted to do something in memory of Lucas and many people have asked if we were collecting money for a charity. We have come to the conclusion that we would like to raise money to support baby bereavement charities, in particular those that supported us when our world was turned upside down.

The charities we would like to support are:

Petals - they provided us with specialist baby loss counselling sessions which were invaluable in helping us return to 'normal life' and prepare for our future without our son.

4Louis - they provided a memory box and also funded training for one of the Bereavement Midwives that supported us at the hospital.

Sands - they are the main national baby loss charity. As well as having resources to support us, they promote and fund to research into baby loss and raise awareness of baby loss.

In addition to the above, if we raise enough, we would also like to donate something to the Rosemary Suite at Colchester Hospital (this is a dedicated delivery room and living space for bereaved parents) and give something to Forever Finley (who provide feet and hand castings for bereaved parents)

We do not have a target in mind. Any amount you donate will be gratefully received.
