Iʼve raised £900 to help put Love at the Heart of the Care System.

    Story

Molly and I have been joined this year by colleagues from Brucefield Childrens Home in Bannockburn to raise funds for Care Experienced Young People this Christmas. We already had £300 pledged at the start (which is paid in and included in our total). We will look to raise a further £450. The funds raised will help support hundreds of young people across Stirling and beyond. In total, we raised £910 and Molly paid teh Crowndfunding fees and the £3.06 shortfall.

We asked colleagues, friends and family to give a small donation to hundreds of young people this Christmas to say that we care. Our Christmas Fundraiser has hopefully 'helped to put love at the heart of the care system'. Thank you to everyone who donated and shared our story.

The money raised was used to provide the following:

Mars Bar Cake (£20) at the Stirling Champs Christmas Party (9th December) plus a gift (£90) which became 6 x £15 Just Eat Vouchers to support the Champs weekly groups. We also gave 2 x £15 Just Eat Vouchers to the Asylum Seekers Group who meet in Champs.(£30).

180 Chocolate Oranges for Who Cares? Scotlands Christmas DInner on Christmas Day (£134.10). 24 Chocolate Oranges for Brucefield, Glencairn and Hosing Support (£17.88). 24 surplus Chocolate Oranges for Police Scotland and NHS Forth Valley for helping to keep our young people safe (£17.88).

£240 for a Christmas takeaway for 16 care experienced young people in Housing Support in Stirling.

Two Fuel Vouchers for young people with new babies in Housing Support (£40).

£180 for a Festive Day out for 5 young people at Brucefield Children's Home.

£88.90 for a Velvetiser at Glencarirn and Hot Chocolate Sachets for Glencairn and Brucefield Children's Homes.

Gift for Young Person from Brucefield who moved into there own house (£16.30).

Two Christmas Dinners for two new young people in Housing Support we hadn’t catered for in the Christmas Dinner kindly donated by Vinney’s Bar (£38).

Thank you for reading our story. Hope you had a peaceful Christmas and all the best for 2024.

Thank you to everyone who has already donated to our fundraiser. Nearly halfway towards our total. Just waiting on the Chocolate Oranges to drop to a £1 before buying. Fingers crossed they do🤞 Cheers Stevie and Molly.
