I've raised £10000 to Love for Lewis

We have created this page on behalf of our 12 year old cousin Lewis, who has recently received the devastating diagnosis that he has Acute Myeloid Leukaemia which is rare in children. Lewis has always been a happy healthy little boy so the news came as such a shock to the whole family.
Lewis is strong, determined and has such a positive outlook on life, he is always the one who likes to make others laugh and put a smile on the faces of those he meets!
In September, he started his first year in secondary school at Birkdale High in Southport and settled in straight away, making lots of new friends and thriving in a new environment. Lewis loves spending time with friends and family and missed seeing everyone when lockdown was enforced due to COVID19. During lockdown he spent a lot of time at home doing what he loves; gaming, rapping and chilling with mum Kay, big sister Caitlin, dad Rick, little brother Malakye and the dogs Toby and Missy. As restrictions lifted and the schools reopened, Lewis was so excited to get back to school that he was up, dressed in his uniform and raring to go before 07.30am!
He was only back at school two days before he started feeling unwell and suffering from chest and back pain. Two days later Lewis was admitted into Alder Hey Children's hospital and diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukaemia. He has already had numerous blood transfusions and started an intensive course of chemotherapy to prevent this cancer spreading to his brain.
Mum Kay says the care at Alder Hey has been incredible and Lewis has coped so well with such a traumatic first week in hospital, he's been so brave and hasn't complained once, telling everyone he knows he's going to get really poorly before he can get better again.
Lewis will be in hospital for at least two months undergoing the initial intense course of treatments and then further treatments over the next six months. His Mum will be right by his side every step of the way. Rent, food and bills should be the least of Kay’s worries whilst she’s off work to be with Lewis so we have created this page in the hope that we can help raise some money to support the family through this difficult time.
Lewis has never been on a plane or abroad on holiday and has said he would like to go to Benidorm when he finishes his treatment! He'd love nothing more than to swim with dolphins, go to the water parks and enjoy quality time away with his mum and big sister. Hopefully with your help we can make this happen. Any donation no matter how small will be greatly appreciated and give Lewis so much to look forward to once he's beaten this cruel disease.
We are so grateful for the donations already received and the family have been overwhelmed with the amount of love and support they’ve had from not just friends and family but complete strangers!
To help get the word out, if you can share this link to your Facebook/ Instagram or Twitter profiles we'd really appreciate it!
This page has been created on behalf of our bright, gorgeous, funny, caring and talented cousin Lewis. We are so proud of him already but this week he has shown a steely determination we didn’t know he had and we can’t wait to get him home and on the road to recovery.
Please give whatever you can 🙏 Thank you!
