I've raised £3000 to help fund essential travel and accommodation for family visiting Louis in French hospital.

On the evening of Tuesday 28th March, Louis (our much loved 24 year old son and brother) was suddenly struck with a severe brain aneurysm. For various reasons, he was unfortunately unable to be transported to the UK for urgent medical attention and was instead airlifted to a specialist in Caen, Northern France. At time of writing, following several procedures, Louis is in a very deep but stable induced coma but in critical condition. As a family, we of course want to be by his side as much as possible especially given that things can change so quickly however this is made incredibly difficult both financially and logistically by the facility being overseas from our homes. Caen is not an easily accessible part of France from the UK/Wales (where Louis’ parents, sister and step parents are based) nor is it easily accessible from Guernsey where his extended family and friends are based. The only direct transport is via ferry or driving via the channel tunnel- both of which take a long time. We have been advised by doctors that there is a possibility of having him transported to the UK however this will only be possible if and when he is stable enough for travel. We‘ve been told he could be in France for the forseeable future and, as we are sure can be imagined, this puts an enormous strain on finances given we expect to be travelling a lot and of course also will require some kind of accomodation nearby to Louis. Day to day life and work cannot continue as normal at present, placing additional pressures on immediate family. If you are in any position to help, we would greatly appreciate your support. No amount is too little. Thank you for your support ❤️
