Story

Those of you who have found yourselves on this page will most undoubtedly have been heartbroken by the tragic news we all received recently about Ben's passing. He was a light that lit up the lives of many, be that as a Son, a Brother, a Family member or a Friend.

Whilst we're all here in a time of grief, it's also a time for us to celebrate the joyous life that Ben shared with us all, and as a collective, we wanted to make sure we were able to do that. Those who knew Ben know how big of a personality he was on Typhoon Squadron, and how much he loved to plan, take part and spin dits about squadron life.

One exercise he was extremely fond of and couldn't wait to see come to fruition was Trans-Europe, a summer long exercise covering the majority of Europe in 4 stages. Starting in Loughborough, we planned to travel all the way to Istanbul, and back again. Unfortunately, due to troubling times we're living in at the moment, the exercise couldn't go ahead as normal. However, in Ben's memory, we wanted to complete this journey in anyway we could.

In teams made up of family and friend's of Ben, as well as his colleagues on Typhoon Squadron, we will cover the original distance proposed for the exercise. Whether it be running or walking, we will complete the 4600 mile journey as a pack, raising money in memory of Ben.

We will be promoting to relevant charities close to Ben’s heart. The primary one is Papyrus, who are the national charity for the prevention of young suicide.
