I've raised £500 to Help RASASH to help victims of sexual violence get the support and help that they need - It ruins lives - support can mean survival and hope

I am running from Inverness to Thurso, 112miles, overnight, to hopefully raise funds for RASASH (Rape and Sexual Abuse Service Highland) to provide help and support for victims of sexual violence. I also hope to raise awareness of the service that they provide, which can be, even a lifeline.
The Highlands and Islands is a huge area for RASASH to cover and funding would help fund more outreach workers to some of the more remote areas within it.
Raising awareness too, of what can be "small town" attitude of this community around sexual violence (and part of the reason a perpetrator "gets away with it") is vital. Victims need to be believed and supported, not blamed and shamed. it is not the fault of the victim - it is the fault of the perpetrator.
