Support the Looe Shed Appeal...

Building a Stronger Community Together

In these challenging economic times, many local people, clubs, schools, and councils are struggling. But there’s hope on the horizon with the Looe Shedders’ vision to create a community shed equipped with woodworking and crafting tools. This shed will be a hub where members can learn new skills and collaborate on projects that benefit the entire Looe community.

Our Impact So Far:

• The Looe Repair Café: Offering free repairs to local residents, helping those who can’t afford new items or costly repairs.

• Playground Projects: Designing and building a playground bus for Looe Primary School and a playground tractor for Trenode Primary School, using recycled materials.

• Youth Club Support: Networking donated computers and completing final fittings for Looe’s Haven Youth Club.

• Community Maintenance: Partnering with the local council to maintain community areas.

• Event Support: Providing marshals for the 2023 Looe New Year’s Eve Fireworks Display.

• Mental Wellbeing Projects: Collaborating with Kernow Health to build a shed and raised gardens for their plot at Looe Allotments.

Despite these achievements, our efforts are hampered by the lack of a permanent home. Currently, we are obliged to work in the Church Hall car park, when using any power tools and this severely limits our capacity, especially during winter.

Imagine the Possibilities with Our Own Shed:

• Increased Accessibility: Open more days per month, attracting more members and maximizing our community impact.

• Enhanced Community Support: Expand our initiatives to support schools, libraries, the Church, and individuals in need.

• Youth Engagement: Launch a Young Shedders section, providing young people with opportunities to learn and develop practical skills.

The essence of Looe Shedders lies in its members, and our members need a proper home to continue their invaluable work. By supporting the Looe Shed Appeal, you are investing in a brighter, more connected future for our community.

Join us in making this vision a reality. Together, we can build a stronger, more resilient Looe.
