Story
A crew of 17 parents from Long Ditton Infant and Nursery School are taking part in the Kingston Rotary Dragon Boat Race on Sunday 16th July to raise money for our wonderful, local, community infant school.
Due to continual cuts, we as parents, carers, friends and grandparents try to support the school by raising money in various ways but this is the first time we’ve put a team in a dragon boat! Our team is called Up Ditton Hill without a Paddle – the road where the school is located.
Previously money raised has included helping to buy laptops for classrooms and a new trim trail. We would now like to try and resurface the whole playground, at a total cost of £10,000. It has been around for almost as long as the school - 106 years!
Please support us in our endeavour to race along the Thames in our Dragon Boat and sponsor us if you are able to - any amount will be amazing and will be going to a good and worthwhile cause. Current and future children living locally will benefit.

Friends of Long Ditton Infant & Nursery School
7 years agoWe punched an AMAZING 7th position, the HIGHEST PLACED MIXED TEAM, against eight other man-beast packed boats, and less than a second behind the eventual winners! We were carried along by an amazing support crew and the screams from the shore from the kids, retiring for a well earned drink at our sponsors, the George Evelyn pub opposite the school on Ditton Hill. An absolutely brilliant day, we're all super-proud of! Thank you for your amazing support and generous sponsorship! Training for next year starts tomorrow!

7 years agoHighest positioned mixed team, and 7th overall out of over 50! Don't know where to start writing this up! Amazing friends, amazing teamwork and over £1,100 and counting raised for Long Ditton Infants School playground!! The fundraising is still open, so please do continue to contribute!! Starting from scratch, the team of beginners trounced the competition, qualifying for the final nine teams out of over 50! The final itself was a nine-boat wide Thames takeover, with all boats finishing within 1 and a bit seconds of each other!!
