I've raised £1000 to Run Tab and Cycle 100 miles in one day 28th June for the Royal Signals Charity and to Help Isla with Cancer treatment

The Royal Signals will be 100 years old on 28th June so 100 miles for 100 years
Charity 1/ The Royal Signals charity. This has been set up to help both serving and retired signalmen as well as their families in need of financial help and support. This charity used to be self funded from a detachment of each serving signalman's pay but with fewer numbers serving and increased numbers retiring or medically discharged there is an increased need to look to private funding to help those in need.
Charity 2/ Isla is a 7 year old little princess who has a very terrible brain cancer, she lives in my little village in Doddington. during this stressful time of Covid 19 they have the added stress of a child in need of some serious treatment. After only a few weeks of Radiotherapy
her beautiful long hair fell out, enduring the threat of catching Coronavirus they battle on and keep taking to her treatments. She now faces 38 WEEKS of Chemotherapy with a round trip each time of 70 miles, plus return trips for check ups, replacing the food tube she currently has to have as cant keep food down, plus trips to get medications etc etc. The doctors have only given her a 70% chance that this will work, but her family stay positive and hope she is one of the 70! I pray she is...
Her mum said " I gave consent for the 38 weeks of chemotherapy. I listened to the consultant list every danger, side effect of the 5 different types of chemo drugs she will be having. Not nice and it’s so obvious this will be a hell of a ride. The blood work confuses the hell out of me.
Today at Addenbrookes the radiotherapy team came into the room to wish Isla all the best, and provided her with a few presents for being so funny and playful and so good.
She has spent hours being screwed to that bed, having treatment and only cried once in thirty five sessions. She has one session left now on bank holiday and that’s it, radio done. The team have been so encouraging, and supportive. You could not wish for a better bunch. Isla was so touched by the card and gifts and made me promise we would visit when we have chemo." Now the Chemo begins, her road is long, painful and draining, NO Parent should ever have to go through this pain.
