Story
The fight goes on. We are now in a period of focused change on the LDP which further highlights significant flaws in the original selection process. To date the vast majority of legal costs (well into 5 figures) has been covered by members of the Llay action group. We are asking again for your help to retain our legal expert in order to legally represent the community at the Public Hearing. Even £1 will help and any surplus funds will go towards a future Llay community project.
In particular:
1. Proposed removal of Green Wedge to eliminate a key objection is clearly not a focused change
2. Proposed removal of Green Wedge without due process or consultation and in direct contravention of current Welsh Government policy and guidance specifically aimed at protecting Green Wedge
2. Misdirection of Councillors to submit the LDP even if they didn't believe it to be sound. This is directly in contravention of the formal process
3. Unclear process and incorrect reporting on the number of Gypsy & Traveller pitches required to support the LDP
4. Clear failure to properly consider alternative sites both before and after the original public consultation process
5. Lack of transparency and opportunity for proper public scrutiny during the LDP process
Our solicitors, Manby Bowdley LLP, are experts in this field and have helped us compile a huge amount of evidence to support our efforts. Please feel free to contact a member of the Group if you would like more details.
