Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page. Hopefully you've got here because you're interested in helping me raise some money for Amana!

In February and March of this year, I travelled to Dar Es Salaam in Tanzania on my medical elective and spent 4 weeks in the maternity department at Amana Hospital. Amana is a government funded regional referral hospital and its maternity department is extremely busy with up to 100 births happening every day.

I very much enjoyed my time in Tanzania; it is a beautiful country and its residents are extremely welcoming and friendly hosts. However, one of the stark differences between this placement and placements at home was the lack of resources available to the hospital staff and patients. It became very obvious very quickly that we take a lot for granted in the UK.

I am running the Great Manchester Run 10k on Sunday 28th May and would really like to raise some money for the maternity department at Amana. If you can spare a few pennies for me to give to the hospital to help the mothers, babies and families out there I would be really grateful!
