Over 19% of kids in the UK live in households which are food insecure, and as a result regularly go hungry. Hopefully, over time, this issue will be addressed on a broader scale, but at the moment we would like to raise money to help families to be able to afford to buy Christmas lunch. We calculated that this costs approx. £25 for a family of 4 however Bidfoods' suppliers have generously donated food to the campaign. A HUGE thank you to Upfields, William White Meats, Hartley Farms Foods and Premier Foods for their generous donations of turkey, cream and other supplies! This has reduced the cost per hamper to £18 so our overall target is now £18,000 which will provide Christmas lunch for 1,000 families.
