Story
Thieves broke into our nursery on Christmas Eve and stole numerous pieces of IT equipment that children use on a daily basis e.g laptops and I Pads. These IT Tools help provide children with inspiration, which in turn enhances their overall learning and development.
Staff use Samsung Tablets to record each child's observations and create individual learning journey profiles. Parents could access these from home and look at photos and videos of their child's activities during their time with us. All of these tablets were also stolen and without these pieces of equipment, both the children and parents will lose a very important part of their experience with us.
As well as stealing these IT resources, windows and their frames, plus internal doors and doorframes were all damaged beyond repair and need replacing completely. The nursery and office surroundings were also damaged whilst the thieves were searching for the money , and this has meant that a clean up operation has occurred in order to get the nursery ready to be open for business as usual after Christmas.
Hopefully the insurance we have, will in some way help to provide some of the money to replace a few items that were stolen. As always though, the insurance companies are not forward thinking in resolution to the theft, but are detailed in ways that they may not be able to pay out. There is always an excess to pay in these situations and the replacement value is always higher than the original value item ; settlement of these claims can also drag on and may not be resolved quickly.
The children start back with us on January 2nd and really need the resources that have been stolen from us to guarantee they get the quality of childcare they each deserve. We will of course replace some items from personal monies we have, but are hoping that this page may help us raise funds to ensure we can replace them all.
Little Einstein's, as a nursery and family, refuse to let the mindless act of thieves, who thought it acceptable to break into other peoples property and take anything they fancied, ruin the safe, stimulating place we provide for so many children.
If you can help by donating any amount, however small, it would be greatly appreciated.
Many thanks for taking the time to read this
Best Wishes
Sarah & Ian

7 years agoMany thanks for all those that have been generous and given money to the nursery. You will be pleased to know that we do not need anymore money as the insurance company have agreed to pay for most things stolen. This means that we can use the money raised to further enhance the IT suite we have at the nursery and so provide a better quality environment for the children. Ian and Sarah

My nephew attends the nursery and loves it. It’s disgraceful that these low life’s would steal from kids like this. Hope you raise enough to get your equipment replaced
