NEW ENGINE APPEAL FOR THE FILEY TOWN BUS SERVICE

Hunters Filey will be walking Flamborough to Filey on Nov 28th 2021 to raise funds for the much needed cause! Read below for more info -

This campaign was initiated, and is being run, by John Bernard Casey and Jeannie Williams.

Most of you will know the Filey Town Bus Service as Collin's Little Bus, which he has run in Filey for the last 16 years. During that time he has moved in the region of 3/4m passengers/shoppers from where they were to where they wanted to be. Not only that, but he remembers many of his passengers' various appointments - doctor, hairdresser, vet, and makes adjustments so that he can help. He also extends his service, each year, to be able to get people to the doctor's for their annual flu jabs.

The bus is a registered bus service, all passengers can use their bus passes, if you don’t have a bus pass fares are £2 anywhere.

No charge children, although they should be half fare.

Over the years passenger numbers have dropped, especially post Covid, so revenue has been compromised, but Colin has continued to provide a service whilst maintaining his vehicle to meet Driver & Vehicle Licencing Agency standards.

Now, the bus needs a new engine, which will cost in the region of £6000. A couple of his regular users would like to start a campaign to raise this money to help keep the service running.

All businesses who donate will be advertised on this page, other community pages, and on the bus.
