Little Oliver came to us in mid-December, when we were made aware of his case by our colleagues at Friends of Felines. He had been left at the vet to be PTS at just 3.5 months old, because he was found to have FIV. His 'breeder' had also refused to take him back.

It turns out the poor little boy had a respiratory infection, which had activated his herpesvirus, which in turn activated his FIV and his tiny body was struggling to manage the snowball effect of all of this. What he needed was serious TLC and veterinary support to build his strength and immune system to where it can regain some balance.

He is currently staying with some of our very loving fosterers who have been caring for him so well he has actually put on weight and grown! He had a scratch on his nose which wouldn't heal due to his low immunity and this has almost gone now :)

But it has been a bumpy journey and he truly is our little Christmas miracle - other than the initial vet visit to our fab team at Wolfe Vets in Chiswick to create his care plan, we had to rush him into emergency clinic on Boxing Day after he became unresponsive on Boxing Day with a temperature of over 40 degrees. We are so thankful to Stella and Manuela for holding his paw throughout Christmas during a particularly difficult couple of days as he nearly didn't make it..

Oliver has since been back to Chiswick for follow-up visits and the vets are very happy with his progress. We want to keep giving him all the care he needs over the next few months to allow him to grow into the strong healthy boy we know he can be - he is already the sweetest, most loving little chap, and the only way is up!
