At this year's Edinburgh Marathon Festival Hairy Haggis Relay (May 26th), four lecturers will race against four students to raise money for the Edinburgh University Classics Society's Literacy Through Latin scheme!

LTL is entirely run by students and we do not receive guaranteed funding, so all resources have to be carefully managed. We teach Latin (and Roman culture) to primary school students at schools where this subject would otherwise be unavailable, with the principal aim of using Latin to improve their literacy skills in an engaging and entertaining way.

All students involved volunteer their time to teach and take part in fundraising initiatives such as this. We hope to expand and offer LTL to more students at more schools, but in order for this to be a possibility we need to raise more money.
