On 17th September 2017 I will be doing a half marathon to raise money for the House of Mercy Homeless Hostel in Gravesend.
It's easier to become homeless than you think..........It's hard to pass referencing on a rental......landlords won't take tenants on benefits.......benefits don't cover the cost of even a room.......and saving for a deposit is virtually impossible.
The House of Mercy provides vital help and support to those who find themselves on the streets. They provide a roof over your head, food, cooking skills, job hunting skills, counselling for those who need it and help in securing a place to live. All of this is funded by donations and they can't do it without the support of the local community.
