Thank you very much everyone for your support! Through all our fundraising efforts we have raised and sent over to Liberia Chimpanzee Rescue and Protection a total of £712.50! Doogal and Fergus.

We are two children passionate about our natural world and in doing what we can to help make a difference to the future of our planet.

BBC 2 are currently running a programme called Baby Chimp Rescue with Professor Ben Garrod and Jimmy and Jenny Desmond. We have been so moved by this and also Prof. Bens' book- 'The Chimpanzee and me', that we have decided to try and raise as much as possible to help the chimpanzees and the amazing and brilliant work that Jimmy, Jenny and all of their team do.

We would really love to raise as much as possible. All of the money we raise will go directly to Liberia Chimpanzee Rescue and Protection.

The Desmond’s are planing to build a sanctuary in an isolated 100-acre patch of forest. This will provide the orphaned chimps, rescued from the illegal pet trade, with a protected and secure home.

We are also holding a ‘dress up as an animal day’ on 31st January at our school and have received some lovely messages of support for this,
