Pole vaulters in Sussex train and compete at Lewes Athletics Club, an amazing club managed by volunteers.
The vaulters say: "The vault bed desperately needs updating...every time we land on it we’re engulfed in a cloud of dust....it gets in our eyes....it’s horrible!! "
On 4th May, as a team, Sussex Vaulters are aiming to jump an accumulated height of 1264 metres (the date of the Battle of Lewes) by vaulting continuously for over 6 hours. That’s around 500 jumps!
