Setting up this page has to be one of the very most difficult things for me to have to do. Asking for help as its not something I ever do but under the circumstances I have been left with no choice.
I was diagnosed with Breast Cancer in January 2015. I took all the treatment offered, mastectomy, chemotherapy, radiotherapy and hormonal therapy. Only to be hit with the blow 1 year after finishing treatment in November 2016 that the Breast Cancer had spread to my Liver and Lungs and was now terminal and only palliative chemo could be offered.
I am on my 3rd different chemotherapy since December after progression of the disease on my latest scan in March.
I am desperately seeking for new treatments and adapting my lifestyle to keep me alive long enough to see my 3 boys grow up.
Options are few and far between for Breast Cancer patients but have came across a treatment in the UK, available to Bowel Cancer patients with Liver Metatasis on the NHS but not available to Breast Cancer Patients with Liver Metatastises on the NHS.
The treatment is called Selective Internal Radio Therapy (SIRT).
SIRT is a revolutionary treatment for cancers of the liver that uses new technology to deliver radiation directly to the site of the tumor. SIRT delivers millions of microscopic radioactive spheres, directly to the site of the liver tumors, where they selectively irradiate the tumors. The targeted nature of SIRT lets doctors deliver up to 40 times more radiation to the liver tumors than would be possible using conventional radiotherapy. This treatment has huge success rates and is my only hope.
Which is were I ask for your help 🙏I have to go privately and fund this treatment myself. This treatment costs in the region of £20k - £30k.
