The Leominster First Responders need your help!

We are a team of 4 volunteers who respond to urgent 999 calls on behalf of West Midlands Ambulance Service, we cover Leominster and the surrounding areas and are often first on scene when we are needed most. In a recent callout, our team were on scene in just 85 seconds from receiving the call.

We rely totally on donations and receive no central funding. During the Coronavirus pandemic (our busiest period ever), we have been unable to fundraise in public and have been assisting the ambulance service almost every day including Christmas Day itself!

You may have seen our Dacia Duster response car parked on the standby point in South Street, unfortunately it’s getting a bit tired now and as our team grows and we increase the amount of lifesaving equipment we carry we need to upgrade it to something more suitable.

Unfortunately, a brand-new car is probably out of reach, but we are looking for something like a BMW 3 Series Estate (4wd) which will allow us to respond quickly and carry our equipment in a safe manner, as well as being more ergonomically suitable for our volunteers on long standby periods.

Our costs include the purchase of the vehicle, application of vehicle livery, fitting supplemental lighting, installation of our communication equipment and mobile data terminal, we estimate the whole project to cost us £12,000, if we raise more than this we will be able to source an even newer, better vehicle.

We estimate that we will be able to raise £5000 from the sale of our Dacia to another CFR team, but we cannot sell this car until we source another one to maintain coverage.
