1 year agoIt was overcast as we started the climb up through the woods from Kinlochleven. The midges were Oot and drove us crazy! We were saved from them as we got up beyond the tree line. The sun came out as we approached Glen Nevis and we saw Ben Nevis in all is splendour. The descent into Fort William wasn’t so bad, if a bit boring for the last stretch along the road. The High Street felt like the longest high street in the world, as we trudged our weary feet to the finish line! Big smiles all round as we posed photos. We did it! 96+ miles

1 year agoDay 6 A slow start today, tight calf muscles made the first miles very slow. Stopped for a snack at the bottom of The Devils Staircase to delay the climb. Then onwards and upwards one tiny step at a time to the summit. Can't quite articulate the feeling of reaching the end of the uphill section except to say WOW! Lunch and a photo op with Lammy in the blazing sunshine then off we went down and down on what seemed like the never ending descent to Kinlochleven. Hard on the feet and knees and sooo grateful it was a short mileage day.

1 year agoToday was our longest and most daunting day - 19 miles (30km) from Tyndrum to Kingshouse. We were really hoping for some cloud cover but Alas, the sun beat down on us and the path went on, and on, and on… It was a hot and exhausting hike, but we had no complaints about the magnificent views! We had a lovely picnic at Bridge of Orchy, and a magical moment when we met a deer on our path. We dug deep to get over Rannoch Moor in the heat, and were delighted to reach Kingshouse in time for dinner. We are feeling a great sense of accomplishment
