Story

As a club Leiston FC have to travel some of the furthest distances in the league for the majority of their away games, most of which amount to a 300 mile round trip. The furthest away game is Stourbridge which totals a 382 mile round trip. The players and staff combined will attempt to run this distance over the course of May Bank Holiday weekend (23rd, 24th, 25th May) in order to raise money for Leiston Community Responders and Leiston Football Club.

Leiston Responders are a group of 5 volunteers trained in Basic Life Support who are called by the East of England Ambulance NHS Trust to attend 999 calls in the Suffolk Coastal area. They cover the villages of Leiston, Theberton, Eastbridge, Thorpeness, Sizewell, Aldeburgh and Knodishall. These villages are in a particularly rural area with a limited road network which impedes ambulance response times. Rural Community Responders provide life-saving treatment, such as CPR (cardio pulmonary resuscitation) and the use of a defibrillator to restart a person's heart after suffering a cardiac arrest. There are many people alive today who would not be here without the work of the responders!

We would like to raise the money to help fund the purchase of new defibrillators for Leiston Community Responders and to purchase a new defibrillator and equipment to help the young players review their performances for our club as well.

50% of the money raised will be going to Leiston Community Responders and 50% to Leiston Football Club.
