I've raised £5000 to Supporting Chelmsford Mencap, and our own Supporters' Club Community Project involving local groups, and the South Western Ambulance Charity

Last year, 10 fans of Chelmsford City had planned to hike from Lands End to Oxford, starting 29th March to try to arrive in time for the Oxford City v Chelmsford City fixture on 4th April. A few weeks before we were due to set off, it became clear this would no longer be possible.
We are now hoping to tweak the walk slightly, and end up in Winchester for May 29th, setting off on 22nd. Since there is no longer any football to walk to we had our choice of finishing locations, and decided where better than the picturesque city of Winchester.
It’ll be around 40 miles a day, sometimes longer and will be done in relay. We are pleased to be raising vital funds for our own Supporters Club who have a Community Project ongoing involving local schools and groups. We are also pleased to be supporting Chelmsford Mencap again, a cause close to our hearts and a hugely well-deserving charity. Given the situation and the location of our walk, we also feel it appropriate to make a donation to the South Western Ambulance Charity, to acknowledge the fine work carried out by all at the NHS.
From all the group, we thank you for any pledge you make – it will really spur us on during those long days on the road and mud!
