We're raising money for LRFS x Racial Justice Network x Stop Hate UK

This year the Leeds Rag Fashion Show's (LRFS) vision 'Ignite' aims to empower and give a voice to those who need it. We believe that fashion drives social change which is why this year we have chosen to raise money for the Leeds based charities, Racial Justice Network and Stop Hate UK.

Racial Justice Network works with individuals, communities and over 30 organisations across the West Yorkshire region on effective ways of challenging oppressive practices and proactively fighting for racial justice. Their work encompasses pastoral care, bespoke training programs, educational resources and campaigns that include - #StoptheScan(dal) / Unlearning Racism / Race and Climate Justice / International Solidarities - projects that aim to educate, inspire and empower people in the fight against structural oppression and colonial legacies.

Stop Hate UK started as a service in 1995 for victims of racial harassment in response to the murder of Stephen Lawrence. In 2007 it was relaunched to support all people affected by Hate Crime relating to any aspect of their identity. They provide a toolkit to help improve local responses to Hate Crime and a 24-hour helpline serving as an alternative for people who don't want to report to the police or other statutory agencies. They provide immediate emotional and practical support, information and advice to victims and third party callers.
