Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit this JustGiving page.

Myself (Lee Wilshaw) and Tom Stott have decided to take part in a Ironman Triathlon in quarantine style, this consists of; a 2.4-mile run (Instead of a swim - we currently can’t swim anywhere), a 112-mile bicycle ride and a marathon 26.22-mile run, raced in that order.

I have known Tom for a number of years and first met following our similar interest within sport. We believed this would be an incredible achievement upon completion and a great opportunity to raise money towards two great causes.

We have chosen two organisations that we would like to raise money for in memory of two people who have recently passed away. Both of these individuals mean a lot and therefore we will be splitting the money 50/50 between the two.

Mark Worthington was an individual who gave me (Lee Wilshaw) the opportunity to work within an industry which I love, he was a well driven man who always put others before himself. Mark passed away on 23rd April 2019 and was a keen Triathlon enthusiast himself. We would like to raise money towards helping young people and young people with disabilities achieve their goal in sport.

Michael Raw was the father of a good mate of ours. Micheal passed away on 27th March 2020, he was a good friend to many and will be sadly missed. He was a keen animal lover and often tried to do his bit, therefore we would like to raise money within this sector in order to honour him.

Any donations would be greatly appreciated by both of us as well as their families.
