Story
I have recently returned to Edinburgh from Spain where I lived for 8 years. Whilst living there I rescued sick, injured and abandoned cats all of whom were living on the street.
In 2016 I made the decision to return to Edinburgh for family reasons, but as there was no-one in Spain willing to re-home or adopt my cats I had no alternative but to bring them home with me. I could not bear to leave them there as they had all been through such a traumatic time already and most likely they would not survive.
So now in I am in Edinburgh with 41 cats which is not really suitable as I live in the city centre near to busy roads therefore I am now in the process of finding each and every one of them a safe and loving FOREVER home.
However, before I can re-home any of them, I need to make sure that all are de-wormed and de-flead and that they have blood tests and inoculations in order to ensure they remain in good health.
Estimated cost per cat is approximately £80.00 and therefore initially I need to raise £3,300 to ensure each cat has the best possible chance of survival.
In addition to raising funds for blood tests and inoculations, 10 of the cats are still suffering from the after effects of their horrific abuse in Spain. Therefore I am also desperately trying to raise funds to pay for the urgent veterinary care which they require in order that they also can have a long and happy life here. My intention is to re-home these cats but obviously I must make sure that they are healthy before I can do so.

9 years agoDear All, the fund is now closed and we have raised the total sum of £13,462.00. I have been busy with trips to the vet and meeting with potential adopters and foster carers. So far: 17 cats have been blood tested, and 3 now have full inoculations. 7 more cats are booked in over next few days to see vet for blood tests and inoculations, 10 require antibiotics for various ailments and 3 require further investigation for more serious health issues. So far, 12 confirmed adopted and 4 fostered. All this has happened because of you, thank you!

9 years agoFor anyone reading this page, please note that we have smashed the target!!! Thanks to some wonderfully generous people we have reached the amazing sum of £13,462 (this is not a typo as someone asked me today) it is true...an anonymous donation direct to my vet has secured the long term future care of the cats, not only does it mean I can give them all of the veterinary care they need but I can also take a bit of time to plan for the cats welfare especially those that will be harder to re-home due to social issues. Bless you all, much love <3

9 years agoDear friends, great news, I have a lady who is interested in adopting one of my FIV female cats......now if I could persuade her to adopt 2 that would be even better as they are so close.....but I am getting away ahead of myself. There is a lot to seriously think about when adopting an FIV cat ie, future vet bills and possible shortened lifespan.....but I firmly believe that diet can play a major part in the longevity of a cat's life. If you can keep his/her immune system healthy then there every chance an FIV cat can live a long happy life.

9 years agoContinued....My FIV cats are all pretty healthy (and Mini Max is getting there) you would never know that they have this virus, it's so heartbreaking as they are all affectionate lovely cats but the vets advice is to keep them indoors and separated from other cats....alternatively I am thinking of constructing a run in the garden where they can be together but have access to the outdoors. Only barrier to this is that it is mums house....so I really need a house to rent in the country with a bit of land. Let me know if you hear of anything :)
