So on the 21st July 2018 i will be taking on a challenge of a life time to help my best freinds ‘super boy’ Reuben. I will be walking 100K non stop along the Jurassic Coast. This challege is nothing compared to what Reuben has to go through every day!

We welcomed our little boy into the world on the 28th August 2013, little did we know of the journey we were about to embark on.

Reuben was diagnosed with a rare genetic brain disorder called Joubert Syndrome along with some other serious complications with his gorgeous brain, after a horrendous 1st 6 weeks of his life, we finally began to understand that there were some serious challenges up ahead for us as a family and that Reubs would have quite the battle to stay alive and also to thrive.

Reuben is solely fed via his gastrostomy as his coordination and unsafe swallow makes eating nearly impossible, he has required full resuscitation on numerous occasions during his little life and is now on oxygen all the time to try and help him stay oxygenated, he likes to keep us on our toes and totally entertained!

His makaton signing is coming on leaps and bounds and we are starting to be able to communicate more effectively together which has helped with a lot of Reub's behaviours, he is a wonderful little Superboy who continues to teach us a lot and we are grateful to be able to call such an amazing dude our son.

We moved into a bungalow 2 years ago and need to make some pretty dramatic adaptations to our home to ensure it is more accessible, safe, functional and hopefully fun for Reubs and the rest of our family. The cost to do this is currently in excess of £80,000.00

We have made some great headway into our target, already achieving a quarter!
