Story
19th September 2021
Dear all,
I have managed to re-open this page to message you.
I am so sorry if this is the first you have heard, but heartbreakingly Jackson’s daddy Lee passed away at home on 9th February 2021. We are all devastated and miss him with all our hearts. It has been an incredibly tough time for everyone who loved Lee, but the one thing we all take solace in, is that we tried everything possible to get as much time with him - and this is thanks to you.
Lee fought bravely throughout his illness, right to the end. He was humbled and so grateful to you all for your kind generosity, and he couldn’t have been prouder of his little lad Jackson.
I have been in touch with Hull hospital to decide how best to utilise the donation, and the remaining funds have been put into trust for Jackson.
We are scattering Lee’s ashes on the morning of Sunday 26th September at Whitby Beach. Lee chose this place as it is where Lee, Jackson and I had our last family holiday (exactly 1 year ago) and we were truly happy. Personally, I will always feel an enhanced sense of closeness to Lee whenever we are close to water, no matter where in the world.
On behalf of Jackson; THANK YOU for making it possible for me to spend as much time with my daddy as I did. I am so proud of him and mummy and me talk about him every day. I miss him so much already, but I know he will always be with me.
All our love, Louise and Jackson xx

We started this page so that our son Jackson could look back on this time and feel proud that he had contributed to his daddy's treatment (£40,000) and getting as much time with his daddy as possible. Thank you so much for all your support xx
From Jackson:
My daddy is the bravest daddy in the world. I know I'm only 18 months, but I've learned so much from my daddy already. He's taught me to always try my best at whatever I do and most of all to NEVER give up.
In February my daddy found out he had a rare form of brain cancer called GBM4. Since then he’s had two awake craniotomy surgeries and gone through a lot of different chemotherapy and radiotherapy. The treatment doesn't seem tobe doing it's job very well so the doctors have offered him a third surgery on 7th October.
I'm scared for my daddy but I know he is doing it all for me, to spend as much time with me as possible. He gives me lots of love and cuddles and he really is the best daddy I could ever wish for.
Daddy is building up his strength again to face this third surgery, and afterwards he's hoping to go to Germany to see if their cell treatment could help.
So to help my daddy along, I’m going to do LAPS FOR DADDY by walking laps around my street. Even though I only have little legs, I'll be aiming to do as many laps as possible (with the help of my mummy!)
I’d like to ask you to sponsor me to raise some money towards my daddy's treatment. If I raise enough money I would also love to donate some funds to the doctors and nurses who have assisted my daddy throughout all his treatment. Your donation will make me feel very proud that I've helped.
I'll be posting updates on this page to let you know how I'm getting on - thank you so much for your help and please share this page as much as you can.
Love from Jackson Harker xx
First Update 3rd October
Hi everyone it was a rainy start to my laps for daddy but I got my coat and wellies on and went out anyway! love from Jackson xx

Second Update 8th October
It's been a busy time for mummy and daddy getting ready for daddy's operation so I had to take my laps to new places over the last few days. I didn't forget to take time out to smell the flowers along my way and I almost caught a pigeon! love from Jackson xx
Third Update 12th October
I've been keeping busy doing my laps while daddy is still in hospital. Along with laps of my street, I got to go down to the river where I chased a squirrel and then to a pond to feed some ducks! I've also just learned how to do a twirly-whirly! love from Jackson xx
Fourth Update 16th October
I've had a lot of fun over the last few days driving a train, picking up sticks, splashing in puddles and swinging into my daddy coming home from hospital! Yesterday I spent the evening snuggled up on his lap. I'm so happy he's home with me and mummy. love from Jackson xx
Fifth Update 22nd October
I love having my daddy home from hospital - he's been giving me loads of cuddles and he's getting a little bit stronger every day. I've been getting out and about doing my laps, and had a lovely couple of days in my nana and grandad's too. love from Jackson xx
Sixth Update 30th October
This week I bumped into our neighbours cat who was very friendly, but I'm still trying to catch that pigeon! I've also had two new teeth pop through (owchy!) Luckily the pain goes away when I get big cuddle from daddy and in between I've been distracting myself doing my laps! love from Jackson xx
Seventh Update 13th November
I've had such a fun couple of weeks! Gran and Pops came to visit and I took them with me on my laps. I brought them to the park to help me try to catch that pigeon but he's too quick for them too! Think I'll have to bring my daddy next time - hoping he'll be out with me soon! love from Jackson xx
Eight Update 25th November
It's getting a bit cold now so I've learned to keep warm by running everywhere! The best part of my laps this week was when my daddy came with me and I got to show him how fast I'm getting. He said he's really proud of me, and I feel very proud of him too. love from Jackson xx
Final Update 12th December
I've loved every minute of doing my laps for daddy. My daddy and mummy are so proud of me, and I feel proud of myself too. The last couple of weeks, I travelled to Germany and my daddy got his first round of treatment. I hope with all my heart that it gives us more time together, he's such a fighter and I am so proud to call him my daddy. Thank you to everyone for all your support - it really means so much to me, daddy and mummy. love from Jackson xx
