Alpaca Dog Attacks

The aim of this Just Giving page is to raise funds to cover vet bills following dog attacks on alpacas, especially where the owner is unknown.

On Wednesday 20 November 2024, a number of our alpacas were violently attacked by 2 dogs in Buckfastleigh. As a result, 1 suffered a fatal injury, and 3 have sustained very severe injuries.

Many of you will know how special these alpacas are to us, and how we know their individual quirky characters and have special names for all of them - these alpacas are our family, and we are devastated due to this incidence. We are not alone in this, as many other alpaca owners consider their alpacas to be part of the family.

We hope you will join us in keeping everything crossed for their successful recovery.

We, as Lakemoor Alpacas, are a member of the British Alpaca Society (BAS) who actively support the health and welfare of alpacas in the UK.

Sadly we are not the only ones who have suffered from the consequences of dog attacks.

Money raised through this page will be used to cover vet bills following dog attacks on alpacas.

We will also be looking at further ways to spread awareness, and hope that this page can support us with this.
