I've raised £40000 to To help fund my mums operation

This year has been one of the hardest years yet with my mum being diagnosed with pancreatic cancer on the 31st May. This journey has come with many difficulties and challenges that we have had to face. The first round of chemo was just too strong for my mum and led her to be taking into hospital. Test after test we didnt seem to be getting any closer to her getting better or answers. On the 31st of July they stopped her chemo because of her becoming so ill but left her for 2 months after with no aftercare, communication or check up. Finally, a scan was booked after fighting and chasing for an appointment and we was awaiting the results. In the period of waiting my mum came down ill again but with sepsis this time. We also found out she had a blockage in her stent. The stent was put in because of gall stones left from a previous operation a few years back. The gall stones were blocked in the bile duct. The second stent was added and then had to add a third stent because the second one was left too long which added to the sepsis. They wouldnt of changed the stent if she hadnt become ill. We could of lost her that week. But we kept on fighting staying strong. Queens hospital were fantastic that week. Finally getting the results back from the scan we got news that we was dreading. It had grown bigger than the beginning but also around her arteries. Because of them leaving her too long it was too big for them to operate on with only 1 surgeon. It will now need two. the NHS will not fund it. She has started a new chemotherapy which resulted im another hospital trip meaning she couldnt finish the course. She had caught another infection. It was another close call! On her next hospital appointment with the consultant they told her there will no longer be an operation available to her. Instead of giving up we as a family decided to keep on fighting for her. We decided to look at going private and with her medical records and scans all looked at and asked is it possible for an operation and they said yes!!! We havent recieved a full total amount but we could be looking at thousands and thousands. I have put £5,000 that would contribute towards the final figure but the amount will change when we have been been a total amount. I am reaching out to everyone, family and friends, friends of friends, people who may have been in a similar situation of someone who is kind enough to give my mum a chance of life again. She had been my rock all my life and always been a strong independent woman. The battle is not over yet we just need a little help getting to the finishing line. Any donations we will be so grateful for.
